For the second year, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) – the leading Islamic bank in Qatar – will be the Gold Sponsor for the Reyada Award that has been launched by the Social Development Centre (SDC), a Member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

QIB’s sponsorship of the award is in-line with the Bank’s major programme of supporting Qatari society through its corporate social responsibility programme. QIB actively promotes interaction with the community, and their history of supporting entrepreneurship has given the Bank a unique insight into what entrepreneurs need and the challenges they face.

The Reyada Award is the leading entrepreneurship programme in Qatar, designed to celebrate Qatari entrepreneurs and their supporters through recognition and rewards. There are three categories of award – the New Venture Challenge Award, which is designed to reward outstanding and well-developed business ideas; the Entrepreneur Achiever Award, given to leading entrepreneurs who have succeeded in their projects; and the Outstanding Entrepreneur Support Award which acknowledges companies and individuals for their outstanding support and/or exposure of entrepreneurs.

The Reyada awards inspire Qataris, encouraging them to take the initiative in creating an enterprise that will contribute to a more diverse Qatari economy. By encouraging such innovation and stimulating ambitions, QIB is a major contributor in supporting this important sector that has been identified in the Qatar 2030 Vision as being so crucial to the future prospects of the nation.
