Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading Islamic bank, held its annual Ramadan gathering (Ghabka) for employees at the Four Seasons Hotel. In attendance was a large number of employees and their families, including QIB Group CEO Mr. Bassel Gamal and QIB General Managers, as well as the honor guest His Eminence Sheikh Suleiman Al – Jubeilan.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Gamal indicated that the Ramadan gathering had become an annual tradition that testifies to the ideals of communication and collaboration amongst all QIB employees. In an introspective speech, the Group CEO evoked memories of Ramadan and the beautiful lessons they left him with, noting that such memories are distinctive for each individual as a souce for success in our lives and the need to prioritize building compassion in the place where we spend most of our time—our jobs.
Mr. Gamal was followed by His Eminence Sheikh Suleiman Al – Jubeilan, who addressed compassion as a principle for dealing with people, calling to mind the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and how he treated his parents and guided his companions to the righteous virtues of compassion. Sheikh Al Jubeilan called upon employees to treat their colleagues with compassion to create a favorable team atmosphere at the workplace.
His Eminence encouraged staff to keep treating Bank customers with compassion, which goes hand-in-hand with proficiency and skill and reflects positively on performance while helping gain the customers’ trust and making them feel at home, thus promoting customer loyalty and sustaining their relationship with QIB.
Evoking numerous personal experiences from his daily life, Sheikh Al Jubeilan reaffirmed the importance of observing Islamic values that call for compassion and promote higher human values; he also praised QIB’s annual Ramadan gathering.
The gathering also featured cultural contests that saw vast participation and ended with several winners receiving awards, thus adding to the overall atmosphere of fun and excitement.
